The heroines of Swordsong

Lauriel Valendril, heroine of Rise of the Blademaster, is a wood elf who survived the destruction of her village and was forged by grief and relentless practice into a blade master. Her story is one of discipline, duty, and a legendary sword.

Jexi Áerimiril, heroine of Wrath of the Warlock, is the realm’s first warlock, daughter of two worlds, and bearer of powers no mortal was meant to hold. Her story is one of forbidden magic, identity, and a search for the family she never knew.

The series also grew out of decades of tabletop role-playing. Brent Batla began playing at thirteen, became his group’s note-taker, and turned their adventures into stories, which gives Swordsong the feel of a living world explored from the inside.
